Contrary Con Joseph Price
Joseph has worked on the web for over a decade, building immersive user experiences for Fortune 500 companies, our nation’s most vital non-profits, and now The Washington Post. His current work focuses on bringing The Post’s journalism to emerging channels like voice assistants (Google Home and Amazon Alexa-powered Echo family) and expanding the reach of our audio products.
You love your voice assistant... and yet the experience is terrible: awkward invocations, hilarious misunderstandings, and limited domains (music, timers) where you can accomplish something useful. This talk will explore why conversational design is so hard and why voice assistant experiences will be lousy for a while yet.
