Zinhle Essamuah is the Host and Correspondent on NowThis News’ original daily evening show, KnowThis on Facebook Watch. Prior to this role you could find Zinhle chasing stories around the nation as the Political Correspondent on NowThis Morning, a live morning news show. Formerly, Zinhle was a producer at NowThis News where she opened the company’s Washington, D.C. bureau. She reports on politics, culture and covers breaking and long-form news stories around the country. Zinhle holds a Master’s in Media, Strategic Communication and Documentary Filmmaking from The George Washington University.

Zinhle is a filmmaker, artist, and multimedia producer. Her debut film, Hands Up, is an award-winning documentary which chronicles the #BlackLivesMatter movement. Her second original documentary, The Minority Vote, follows minority, millennial voters during the 2016 presidential election. Zinhle’s films have screened in over 30 locations in the U.S., Canada and Europe. She is the recipient of a Gracie Award for her filmography.

Zinhle has a special interest in teaching, and utilizing stories and art as tools for domestic and international conflict reporting. She leads trainings and workshops on civic engagement and digital stories. Some of her greatest joys come from traveling and asking questions. In her free time, Zinhle brews tea, laughs, and sings.
