Contrary Con 2017

Inrest Unrest - Contrary con
An ISL production.
Washington DC September 15 —2017—

this is not a conference

ContraryCon is an anti-conference hosted by ISL that exposes unique thinkers while elevating the DC creative community.

ContraryCon III, Insert Unrest, will focus on those who deliberately agitate their respective disciplines—intentionally breaking best practice and making unconventional decisions to redefine the limits of their craft.

Upset Upset Upset Upset

Upset

To insert unrest, one must first upset. How? By deviating from convention to agitate the status quo, likely making certain peers and onlookers uncomfortable in the process.

Upset Astound Astound Upset

Astound

The “awe” of “shock and awe.” This is the moment when a new idea catches on in the face of doubt, and the naysayers eat their words

Evolve Evolve Evolve Evolve

Evolve

The aftermath of inserting unrest. The way in which we approach a practice has henceforth changed, thanks to some initial incendiary action. Now, the cycle repeats.
